  • What continuing education (CE) hours are required to renew my Ohio RN license?

    You need 24 contact hours of CE every two years, plus 1 additional hour of Category A training specifically on the Ohio Nurse Practice Act and administrative rules. Our package covers the 24 general CE hours, but you'll need to complete that 1-hour Category A requirement separately.

  • Is CE required for my first Ohio RN license renewal?

    No, newly licensed RNs are exempt from CE for their first renewal after passing the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX). Starting with your second renewal, you'll need the full 24 hours along with the 1-hour Category A requirement.

  • Can nurses licensed by endorsement in Ohio have different CE requirements?

    Yes, if you've been licensed by endorsement for one year or less, you only need 12 contact hours for your first renewal. After that, the standard 24-hour requirement applies.

  • Do all CE hours have to be Ohio-specific?

    Not at all. Your CE courses don't need to be Ohio-specific. They just need to be relevant to nursing practice and accredited by a recognized organization like ANCC.

  • Will my CE certificates from this package be accepted by the Ohio Board of Nursing?

  • How do I report or upload my CE certificates to the Ohio Board of Nursing?

  • Can I complete the CE courses online and at my own pace?
